If you’re in dire need of a good laugh, Daniel Connell’s ‘Little Aussie Battler’ is your prescription. Straight off the OXFAM Gala stage, Connell brings his trademark wit and charm to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and boy, does he deliver.
One of the remarkable things about Connell’s performance is his ability to effortlessly weave together tales that resonate with the audience. From his hilarious take on obnoxious couples to his encounters with characters like Kinky Jerry and Cody from Footlocker, every story feels like a comedic masterpiece, without every trying too hard.
The beauty of ‘Little Aussie Battler’ lies not only in Connell’s impeccable, and relatively relaxed, delivery but also in his relatability. His observations about everyday life are spot-on, and you can’t help but nod along in agreement, with a smirk on your face.
Little Aussie Battler runs for 55 minutes, but it’s not long enough. I’d like more wry observations and smug sentiments from the very talented Daniel Connell. An hour of them isn’t nearly enough.
Catch Little Aussie Battler before it wraps on April 21. For more info and bookings, click here.
