Australia’s hottest established and emerging artists will belt out the tunes in Melbourne’s QV Square from tomorrow, as the Square is transformed into a summertime oasis for the free weekend Summer Concert Series.
In demand Melbourne artists The Verses, featuring Ella and Jesse Hooper, kick off the season with a free concert in QV Square on Friday, 4 February.
The music continues throughout February as artists perform every Friday evening and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The exciting line-up includes former Australian Idol star Bobby Flynn, Jess McAvoy, Nick Barker, Blackeyed Susans, Ryan Meeking, The Fauves, Charles Jenkins, Custom Kings, Nicholas Roy, Red Ink and The Hello Morning.
The Square will be decked out with soft green grass and beanbags perfect for lounging on balmy evenings or lazing on sunny afternoons, while QV’s many bars and eateries – including Max Brenner, Della Nonna, Grill’d, 3 Degrees, Duck Duck Goose and Old Town Kopitiam Mamak – will serve quality food and drinks.
“The QV Summer Concert Series is the perfect way for Melbournians to celebrate summer in their city by enjoying some of Australia’s best up and coming musicians,” QV Melbourne General Manager Lisa Fleming says. “Relax on the comfy green grass under an umbrella or prop yourself up in a bean bag and enjoy the tunes.”
QV Melbourne, on the corner of Swanston and Lonsdale streets, is one of Melbourne’s finest fashion and lifestyle precincts, offering leading national and international designers and an impressive list of bars, restaurants and cafes.
