Well known for its exceptional quality of music programming, Melbourne Recital Centre is launching The Garden Party, as part of its programming philosophy to encompass a diverse range of genres. The Garden Party will be a vibrant music venue conveniently located in the Melbourne Arts Precinct.
Transforming a vacant site behind Melbourne Recital Centre into a relaxed, new music venue for four weekends (Jan 25 – Feb 17), The Garden Party will present a host of high calibre local and international artists across the indie music scene.
Featuring artists such as The Bamboos, Art of Sleeping, Husky, Jonti, Jens Lekman, Van She, Mia Dyson, Graveyard Train, Oscar + Martin, The Cactus Channel, Softwar, Kashmere Stage Band, Gossling, Tinpan Orange, The Trouble with Templeton and many more, The Garden Party will be the must-visit festival venue for summer nights in the city.
Located at the corner of Southbank Boulevard and Sturt Street, just behind the Centre, the site will come alive with luscious lawns, relaxed seating and crowd-winning food pop-ups and beverage bars. Accommodating up to 1,000 visitors per session, music lovers can immerse themselves in the comfortable surrounds while soaking up the atmosphere at Melbourne’s hottest new venue.
From the 25th of January until the 17th of February, The Garden Party will take place each Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm–11:30pm and Sunday afternoon from 2pm–9pm.
Tickets to The Garden Party sessions are from $35+bf in advance through Moshtix. Visit thegardenparty.info for breaking news and details of the line-up as acts are announced.
