Your favourite summertime date spot is back for 2018/19!
Moonlight Cinema, in Melbourne’s iconic Royal Botanic Gardens, returns to the Central Lawn this week, with a lineup of epic new releases and nostalgia-inducing cult classics.
This summer’s program features a massive 8 advances screenings including The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots and Second Act. There’s also plenty of Oscar-bait to be seen, with Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born, Green Book and Widows, alongside homegrown Aussie talent in Storm Boy, Ladies in Black and Boy Erased.
If you’re growing tired of office Christmas parties, and looking for a fun, festive alternative, Moonlight is also airing a number of Chrissy classics like The Grinch, Love Actually and Elf, as well as the new take on a classic, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
On offer at the candy bar is a selection of dinner options – think pizza, nachos, hot chippies – as well as delicious and heat-beating ice cream by Connoisseur, classic cinema snacks, and alcoholic bevvies.
Roll in early to secure a good picnic spot, or reserve a bean bed in the exclusive Gold Grass section and enjoy as the sun goes down, with a picturesque view of Ornamental Lake.
Moonlight is on now until the 31st of March, 2019. Visit moonlight.com.au to book tickets.
