American Express Openair Cinema has officially returned to Melbourne, taking up residence in Yarra Park, the backyard of the MCG.
The season promises to be more than just a night at the movies, with a festival program of 25 events boasting a range of food, fun and, of course, flicks. Think pizza and beers while live music pumps in the background, before settling down on a lounger to enjoy summer blockbusters like A Star is Born or The Favourite.
And because no park visit is complete without your favourite four-legged friend, Openair Cinema invites punters to bring their doggos along to any screening (being mindful of films with expected gunfire and explosions, of course) (and cats).
Delicious dinner options come courtesy of Ladro, who will be slinging authentic wood-fired pizzas, as well as the full Ladro menu, featuring an array of Italian dishes with a local twist.
And if you’ve got a hankering for something sweet, Haagen Dazs has you covered for ice cream.
Those wanting to enjoy a sunset bev can do so thanks to brand-new partners and local, sustainably-minded independent craft beer Urban Alley Brewery, along with crowd favourites from PIMMS, Giesen Wines, Black Devil Cider and Champagne Dupperrey for anyone wanting to add a little sparkle to their night.
A number of seating options are available, including the American Express Lounge reserved for cardholders. Members are treated to a bean bag, cushion and complimentary blanket hire, as well as a number of tasty treats, access to the AE Garden Bar and 15% off selected tickets.
Non-card members can, of course, also cash in on a luxe evening in the Amazon Prime Video Lounge which includes reserved seating on a beanbag, table service, and a glass of wine on arrival.
Also available are blankets and loungers which can be hired with any ticket purchase. Alternatively, bring a rug, a picnic and a group of friends and enjoy a fabulous night out under the stars!
