A beautiful tea party setting coupled with French-inspired macarons, mini pastel cupcakes and pink champagne at designer Cristina Re’s gorgeously girly Where a Girl Goes Collingwood store, provided the perfect ambience to launch leading Australian psychic Paul Fenton-Smith’s latest offering Intuition: Keys To Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom on Friday night.
Melbourne designer Cristina Re’s signature feminine illustrations and individual designs, teamed with stunning colour photography, are weaved through the pages of Fenton-Smith’s self-published book which focuses on the power of intuition and how you can channel this to “achieve success in love, career and in your social life”.
With more than 30 years experience as a psychic, clairvoyant, teacher and as the best selling author of nine other self-development titles, Fenton-Smith collaborated with designer Re, but after a little deliberation. Approached by Re during one of his palmistry courses, his initial thoughts were her designs were “beautiful, but a little too girly.”
It was Fenton-Smith’s wife who said, “Cristina has to design your book, this is exactly your target market.” This is true and Fenton-Smith is the first to admit this book is more female orientated; especially given 86.4 per cent of his 750 clientele last year were women.
Whether you are a psychic skeptic or not, there’s a lot to be said for the focus of this book and the meaning of intuition; the thoughts that come to mind quickly and without much reflection, and sensing things happening before they actually do.
Fenton-Smith writes that intuition can arrive as a flash of inspiration, a creative idea, hunch about a situation, an impression of a person when you first meet them or through dreams during sleep.
So how do you further develop your intuition, what are the keys and how do you use them to unlock your inner wisdom?
With each chapter Fenton-Smith provides interactive games, activities and tools to help you identify your natural psychic strengths; understand intuitive techniques including clairvoyance, seeing auras, meditation; deeper topics on psychic cleansing and protection; and much more, all while providing real-life examples along the way.
And how does this installment differ from Fenton-Smith’s other self-development books?
For one, Fenton-Smith says he wanted to create something that was, “applicable and left me out of it.”
“I also wanted to create something that wasn’t too esoteric, was practical, and suited to people of all ages and backgrounds; and I think we’ve got it in this book,” Fenton-Smith added.
Intuition could be read from cover to cover, though the broad range of topics covered and range of exercises lends itself to flicking through to particular sections of interest, and maybe skimming over deeper spiritual topics if this isn’t your thing. So if you are curious about whether you’re a natural clairvoyant or, like me, are interested in simply tapping into your intuitiveness through some insightful activities and quizzes, Intuition: Keys To Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom might be right up your alley.
