Following its successful debut last year, Rutherglen in the City returns to Melbourne this weekend at The Atrium in Federation Square for a two-day wine event, hosted by the Winemakers of Rutherglen.
Bringing the essence of regional North-East Victoria to the heart of Melbourne, Rutherglen in the City will feature a pop-up wine and cocktail bar alongside 17 winery cellar doors.
Rutherglen in the City will offer more than the average wine tasting event without the hassle of pre-booking or purchasing tickets. For only $5, Melburnians can wander through a curated cellar door set-up and taste wines from 17 producers, including cellar door exclusives.
Visitors can also purchase wine to take home, try Rutherglen Muscat cocktails (Muscat Nouveau Spritz and Hip Sip Muscat Fruit Cup), enjoy a bite to eat from two of Melbourne’s favourite food trucks (Happy Camper Pizza and Beatbox Kitchen), before settling in with a glass of wine from the bar.
Rutherglen in the City will provide Melburnians the chance to discover the distinct wine varietals that flourish in the region. Try the world-famous Rutherglen Muscat, bold Durifs, playful sparkling reds or alternative aromatic whites such as Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne and Ugni Blanc.
