BeerFest, Australia’s longest running and original craft beer festival will be returning to Melbourne on leap day – Saturday 29 February 2020– and those celebrating their leap day birthday, simply come to the ticket box on Saturday 29 February, show your ID and receive your free ticket and gift from the Melbourne BeerFest team.
Over 50 craft brewers, cider makers, wine makers and distillers Australia-wide will set up in Catani Gardens, St Kilda to share their craft brews and other one-off unique creations.
From all time crowd favourites to exciting new brews from emerging brewers like St Andrews Beach and Darraweit Cider, there will be a huge range of all things crafted and complimented by the finest in local produce.
More than just a celebration of VIC craft beer, festival goers can also expect a huge line-up of entertainment from comedy acts, roving entertainment and live music (all included in the ticket price). Headling at this year’s event are ARIA-award winning band Art vs Science who will take the stage on Saturday 29 February.
As part of their international 10th Anniversary Tour, Art vs Science have created a one-off beer in collaboration with BeerFest, Burnley Brewing and CryerMalt. This limited-edition summer session ale ‘Art vs Science vs Beer’ will only be available at BeerFest events. The band have also teamed up with Burnley Brewing to design the can artwork, with inspiration taken from their first album cover.
This year, Melbourne BeerFest will welcome substantial laughs with a number of comedy acts. Hosted by Stuart Bell, there will be two shows on Saturday (2:30pm and 4:30pm) with comedy stars Luke McGregor (Rosehaven, Utopia, Luke Warm Sex), Danielle Walker (Tonightly, Get Krack!n, Comedy Up Late), Matt Stewart (Do Go On podcast, Ronny Chieng: International Student, Comedy Up Late) and Lewis Garnham (Triple J, Triple M) performing.
Festival-goers will learn about beer and the art of brewing at a range of masterclasses and tastings lead by industry leaders. The program includes sessions on ‘Beer Sensory and Evaluation’ with Cicerone certified team members, ‘Perfect Match: Food + Beer Pairing’ with Bright Brewing Co, ‘Create the Perfect Hazy Beer in Art vs Science vs Beer’ with Burnley Brewing Co, ‘Concept to Pint’ with Hawkers Beer legend Mik Halse and ‘Discover the Art of Brewing’ with BrewArt.
