If I were ever to lose the Nicole Fendel - NFJ – coin necklace that hangs freely from my neck there’s no doubt in my mind that I would be an emotional wreck. Ever since I bought the piece in 2007 at a friend’s jewellery party, I have rarely left the house without it. My favourite item of jewellery has become a part of me, so much so that close friends refer to it as my signature piece. I tug on it when I’m nervous and twist it when I’m bored. It’s a talking point and a stylish addition to an incomplete outfit; and like I said, if I lost it I’d probably collapse in a fit of tears.
I first met Nicole three years ago, casually through a mutual friend, and I had no idea that her designs would grow into such a well-known label. Of course, given her talent and eye for fashion, it’s no surprise now that she has enjoyed such success. Stocked locally and internationally in boutiques across London and Denmark as well as here in Australia, NFJ draws upon her travels abroad, adventures and relationships for inspiration.
Global Traveller, the NFJ spring/summer 2010 collection, tells a story of a summer spent in St Tropez, Morocco, Capri and Africa. Featuring exquisite gold and silver pendants, dramatic cocktail rings, delicate bracelets and clusters of bangles. The latest range is nothing short of special and I’m at a loss as to what to purchase first.
This summer also celebrates the launch of NFJ’s Spring Racing Carnival Collection: The Clover, The Valentines Heart Collection and the Tree of Life pendant where proceeds are sent to NFJ’s favourite charity: Life & Tree in Sao Paulo, Brazil which aims to rejuvenate plant life in the over developed region.
Whether you’re after a new piece of jewellery for yourself or a gift for a friend, I highly recommend visiting www.nicolefendel.com.au to view the entire collection and the new online store.
